Kenwood head unit shows “No music data” when playing from iPhone/iPod?

When connected to my Kenwood stereo in my car i couldn´t get any music information when playing from my iPhone 4S. Thought it was becouse i used Spotify so i didn´t put any effort into making it work.
Not since today when my friend plugged his iPhone 4S into my stereo and got the data displayed! I have been searching the internet like a maniac and nobody seems to have the same problem. Either it is not playing at all or it is some kind of Bluetooth problem.
But suddenly i see someone mentioning that Kenwood head units are a bit weird. They require that you have atleast one mp3 song on your iPhone for the music information to show. Well, it was worth a shot.
Connected the phone to my computer and uploaded some Rammstein mp3´s that i had ripped from my legally bought CD. Went out to the car and connected the phone. At first it started playing some Rammstein and the information was there in the display. Then when Spotify booted up it took over and there it was. The name of the artist and the song title. I just feel so happy when things are easy to fix 😀

Works like a charm ;)
